Sarson ka Saag
Sarson Ka Saag or Punjabi Sarson ka saag is a most favourite Dish that is very popular in North Part of India during in Winters . It is eaten with the Makki ki Roti . There are various types of saag that are Palak Saag , Chane ka Saag & Bathua saag . It is very Popular In some states i.e Punjab , Uttar Pradesh & Haryana . It is a type of curry which is made from Sarson , palak , bathua & channa .
Sarson Ka Saag Recipe
Ingredients :
500 gms of Sarson
250 gms of Palak
2-3 Green chilli (grinder)
1 pc of Grated Ginger
4-5 Garlic cloves
2tsp Atta
Salt to Taste
Water
Jaggery
Ingredients for the Tadka :
2-3 tsp Ghee or cooking oil
1 tsp Cumin seeds
Half tsp Hing
3-4 Dried Red chilli
1 tsp of Red chilli Powder ( as per taste)
1 pc of Onion Chopped
1 pc of Tomato
How to make sarson ka saag
Step : 1 Chopped the Palak and sarso finely after washing them Properly.
Step :2 Add Some water to Pot , when water start boiling add the Palak , sarso & Salt in it and leave for 20 minutes till is cooked .
Step : 3 Now drain them and let them cool , then blend them using a Hard blender .
Step : 4 Now Add Ghee , cumin seeds , hing , green chilli ,red chilli and salt in a pan over a medium flame on stove .
Step : 6 Now add Onion & Tomato (Grinded) in the pan , also add ginger and garlic cloves grated and let them cook for 5-10 Minutes .
Step : 7 Now add the mixture of palak and sarso to the pan and red chilli in it . & mix well and let them to be cooked for 15-20 minutes
Step : 8 Now in a seprate pan add Some ghee , atta & roast till becomes golden .
Step : 9 Now add the Atta and ghee mixture in the saag and stir well & let them to be cooked for 10-15 minutes .
Step : 10 Sarson ka saag is ready to be served hot , traditional it is served with the “ Makke ki Roti “ and a butter or ghee , and also keep a piece of jaggery in plate .

Now enjoy the sarson ka saag add ghee with the Makke ki roti and a piece of jaggery . It is very healthy dish especially during Winters . It is very famous in the villages during winter .
Important Tips :
- Saarson and palak should be fresh for the better taste .
- Mostly it is eaten with Buttermilk ( chaach )
- You can also eat this with the Bajra Roti which is available in winters only.
- You can also add Paneer in Sarson ka saag for Taste
